The Casualty (2010)

News Flash: “The Casualty” will premier at the 32nd Moscow International Film Festival as part of the program “Contemporary Russian Cinema.” The screening will take place at the House of Cinema on June 23rd at 7:30pm.

“The Casualty” is the latest feature from the acclaimed Russian director Alexander Galin (“Il Delegazione”). The film tells the story of a Russian actor who comes to New York City in the hope of conquering Broadway, but finds himself playing a role in a very different drama.

Starring Sergei Gazarov (“12”, “Turkish Gambit”), Vladimir Pankov (“Children of the Arbat”) and Natalia Soldatova (“I Thank You for Everything”) , “The Casualty” was shot entirely on location in New York and Florida.

“The Casualty” is the third feature from Alexander Galin, who is also regarded as one of Russia’s leading playrights and theater directors. His plays (“Sorry”, “The Competition” and “Czech Photo”) are in high demand on Russia’s most prestigious stages, such as Moscow Art Theater, Sovremennik and Lenkom Theater.
