Khachaturian

“Khachaturian” is a grand tribute to the great Armenian composer and a daring, yet moving study of his complex life under Stalin’s tyranny. Directed by Peter Rosen and shot by Persona’s Yan Vizinberg, this documentary examines the life of a composer creating in the darkness of a tragic era.

A Winner of the Best Documentary Award at the Hollywood Film Festival, “Khachaturian” features interviews with such world-famous musicians as Mstislav Rostropovich, Vladimir Vasiliev and Konstantin Orbelyan, as well Khachaturian’s family members.

The production of “Khachaturian” took place in Russia, Armenia and the US. The film includes never-before-seen archival material from the Russian film archives and private collections.
