Production Starts on Grace Hartigan Documentary
Persona Films starts production on a documentary film about the Abstract Expressionist painter Grace Hartigan.

Hartigan gained her reputation as part of the New York School of artists and painters that emerged in Manhattan during the 1940s and 50s. Her friends included Jackson Pollock, Larry Rivers, Helen Frankenthaler, Willem and Elaine de Kooning, Frank O’Hara, and many other painters, poets and writers.

Produced by Checkerboard Film Foundation and Shurefire Productions, the film is directed by the acclaimed Scottish filmmaker Murray Grigor and shot by Persona’s Yan Vizinberg.

The shoot takes place in New York and Baltimore where Hartigan resides and paints today.
