“The Casualty” Goes into Post

Production wrapped on “The Casualty”, the latest feature from the acclaimed Russian director Alexander Galin (“Il Delegazione”). The film tells the story of a Russian actor who comes to New York City in the hope of conquering Broadway, but finds himself playing a role in a very different drama.

Starring a primarily Moscow-based cast, including Sergei Gazarov (“12”, “Turkish Gambit”) and Vladimir Pankov (“Children of the Arbat”) and Natalia Soldatova (“I Thank You for Everything”) , “The Casualty” was shot entirely on location in New York and Florida.

“The Casualty” is the third feature from Alexander Galin, who is also regarded as one of Russia’s leading playrights and theator directors. His plays (“Sorry”, “The Competition” and “Czech Photo”) are in high demand on Russia’s most prestigious stages, such as Moscow Art Theater, Sovremennik and Lenkom Theater.

While most actors were brought over from Russia, the crew was entirely New York-based. Shot on 35mm by Director of Photography Benjamin Wolf, the film is now in post-production. The offline edit will be performed by Editor Abigail Honor on Persona’s Avid Adrenalin HD.
